PNG is a lossless format that every editor and operating system opens. If you are going to edit an iPhone photo, add it to a design or open it in older software, PNG is a safe choice. This tool converts HEIC to PNG in your browser, for free and without a login.
How to convert HEIC to PNG
- Select your iPhone photos or drop them on the box. The iPhone (HEIC) tab is already open and the format is detected automatically.
- Choose PNG in the Convert to buttons, then press Convert iPhone Photos.
- Download the result, or use Download all (ZIP) for many photos.
PNG or JPG?
- Choose PNG for editing, graphics, screenshots and when you want to avoid further compression.
- Choose JPG for sharing, forms, email and anywhere file size matters. See HEIC to JPG.
Expect PNG files to be much larger than the original HEIC. If a form has a size limit, JPG is usually the better choice, and you can shrink it afterwards with Compress to 200 KB.
Private and free

Why would I choose PNG instead of JPG?
PNG is lossless and widely supported by editing programs. It is useful when you plan to edit the picture further.
Why is the PNG so much larger than my HEIC?
HEIC is a very efficient format. PNG stores much more data, so a PNG from a photo can be several times bigger.
Does the PNG keep full quality?
The PNG is created from a high-quality version of your photo, so it looks the same, but it is not a bit-for-bit copy of the original HEIC data.
Is it free and private?
Yes. There is no login and no limit, and the conversion happens in your browser, so your photos are not uploaded.
Can I convert many photos at once?
