How to Create a QR Code for a Link, Text or Wi-Fi
← Blog · Updated 8 October 2026
QR codes let people open a link or read a message by pointing a camera. You can make one in a minute.
QR code for a link
Open Link to QR Code, paste your address starting with https://, and download the PNG.
QR code for text
Use Text to QR Code for a message, a phone number or a short note. Shorter text makes a simpler code that scans more easily.
QR code for Wi-Fi
Many phones recognise Wi-Fi details written in this form: WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:password;;. Replace NetworkName and password with yours and create the code from text. Test it on a phone before sharing.
Printing tips
- Print at least 2 cm wide.
- Keep dark code on a light background.
- Always test with a phone before printing many copies.
To check an existing code, use the QR code reader.
Questions
Does a QR code expire?
No. It holds your text or link, so it works as long as the link works.
How much text can I use?
Up to 1,000 characters here, but under 300 is easiest to scan.
